Postcards to Swing States

Writing postcards to voters is easy, it’s effective, and it’s a good way to calm your anxiety about all the chaos and corruption in politics. It’s also a meaningful and pleasant thing to do while sitting around a table with neighbors and friends. In our last campaign, we wrote 1,250 postcards in 10 days. For these next campaigns, we have more time, and rather than just making a good showing, there’s a very good chance that we will win many of the targeted races! 

We will start writing postcards together at the end of this month, on May 28th, at Blue Star Barns Coffee every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from noon to 2, and we’ll continue this schedule for as long as it works out well for us and the owners, Joe and Amy. They don’t serve lunch—unless you count sweet rolls and muffins, and why not?—but please buy a cup of coffee or snack while you are there! They are happy to let us use one side of their shop, or you can pick up postcard kits to take home. These kits, which include 20 addresses and postcards and an instruction sheet with a selection of scripted messages, will also be available at all of our general meetings, including on May 5th, and at various protests.

We are asking that people buy their own stamps if they can--but we don’t want anyone to let the price of stamps to keep them from writing postcards, and I will have sheets of stamps available to anyone who asks for one. All Postcard stamps are “Forever” stamps, so stock up ahead of July 13th, when prices are going up again.
