Childcare will be provided by background-checked church staff during the trainings.Registration is now open for two Active Response to ICE and Family Support training sessions this month, occurring back-to-back on a Saturday afternoon.
The initial session will include information for both Active Response and Family Support volunteers, to be followed by a Train the Trainer session for those having completed at least one full training session. That program will provide consolidation of prior training and access to training resources.
During these sessions, participants will learn how to effectively respond to ICE operations, and ways of supporting families impacted before, during and after ICE encounters. Self-care and safety tactics are stressed for volunteers participating in this program. The goal of these trainings is the expansion of safe and effective means of response into neighborhoods, churches and communities seeking to be prepared for what may come.
Specific training location will be provided to registrants prior to the event.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees must present a driver’s license or similar photo ID for entry into the training sessions. All participants are vetted prior to entry.
Registration should be completed by February 18. Seating may be limited.
