Help Save Our Rural Hospitals – We Need You at the Rally!
We’re teaming up with Indivisible groups across the region to fight back against the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” — what we’re calling the Reverse Robin Hood Bill — which would slash Medicaid funding in Michigan.
These cuts threaten to shut down rural hospitals, lay off healthcare workers, and leave thousands of families without access to care. Our healthcare system is already stretched thin — this bill would break it.
Why This Matters:
Many rural hospitals rely heavily on Medicaid and Medicare. If this bill passes, entire communities will lose their hospitals — the places where babies are born, emergencies are treated, and lives are saved. These closures won’t just affect one town — they’ll impact our entire state.
Why We’re Rallying:
We’re heading to a critical rally in support of U of M Health-Sparrow, where staff, patients, and concerned citizens will speak out. This event isn’t just symbolic — it’s a show of force to let lawmakers know we’re watching and we will not stand down.
Yes, it's a drive — but it's worth it. When rural communities are under attack, we show up.
Get Involved:
ARTISTS: Help us design bold, eye-catching posters with strong healthcare messages. We’ll make them available online so anyone can print and use them.
DRIVERS: If you can attend, bring others with you! Let us know if you have extra seats or need a ride, we’re organizing carpools.
PROMOTERS: Spread the word! Share our event on social media (Facebook, Mobilize, and our website). Share your personal healthcare stories — especially in short video clips — to help others understand what’s at stake.
This isn’t just a rally, it’s the beginning of a movement. We're also building a template that other groups can easily use to replicate this rally across the state. Let’s make this the first of many.
