JOIN THE PARADE: Walk alongside our SOS Democracy float this Saturday night in Douglas. Pictured here is SDAI Supporter Linda Charvat, our joy-filled Lady Liberty who guides our ship each year.
Volunteers Needed Halloween Night
Walk with our SOS Democracy float in the 28th Annual Douglas Halloween Parade for Adults on Saturday, October 31. The parade line-up starts at 9 p.m. and the parade kicks off at 10 p.m.
We need volunteers for two different roles.
Zombie Congress: Wear an ill-fitting suit, or dark pants with a blazer, and a white shirt or T-shirt. We’ll provide a red tie and zombie make-up for you. You’ll be doing the zombie walk with our group to reflect the zombification of this term’s congress.
Blue Wave Crew: Wear your Indivisible T-shirt or a costume of your choice. Your job will be to carry one of our lightweight wave signs that have positive messaging. You’ll be walking alongside our SOS float to raise awareness about the election.
Joining us for the parade will be members of the Holland-Zeeland Indivisible and the South Haven Indivisibles groups.
This event attracts between 15-20,000 people to the Douglas area each year for an absolute extravaganza of creativity. Parade photos and videos are posted to every conceivable social media outlet and go around the world following the event.
Come and enjoy a spooktacular night of great music, incredible costumes, and a fun way to get-out-the-vote.
The parade line-up starts at 9 p.m. on W. Center Street and Ellis Street (near the library). The parade kicks off at 10 p.m.
Sign up to let us know you’re coming.
