Singing Resistance in Solidarity

  • Grace Episcopal Church 555 Michigan Avenue Holland, MI, 49423 United States (map)

The newly formed Singing Resistance community are hosting a gathering, a time when leaders in the community teach songs by ear and everyone who gathers has a chance to sing together. The goal of the gathering is to bring unity, solidarity and joy and to equip people with new songs of hope and protest that they can carry with them in acts of daily resistance and for protests and rapid response.

Singing Resistance gatherings are places where everyone is welcomed and valued. We lean into nonviolence and ways of being that affirm life. We sing as part of our collective resistance against violence and oppression. We sing to envision the future that we want to see, and to embody it here and now.
